From the moment I saw one of my favorite bloggers mention Convert Kit, I wanted to get it and try it out for myself. It looked cool and was the perfect way to design emails that looked professional and vaguely personal. Since then, I have been able to enjoy a couple of nice features coming for this system, but it wasn’t always easy.
What Is ConvertKit?
ConvertKit is a tool for content creators that is built to help them create landing pages and sell products and services over email. It is similar to Infusionsoft and MailChimp, except more affordable and easier to use.
ConvertKit Review: Summary
Their plans start from $10 a month. Their prices are not too expensive because their trial plan is free. You don’t need to pay anything to get started. You can see how ConvertKit actually work and test their features.
I have never had a landing page that was so easy to use. It’s a great piece of software. You can create landing pages from scratch or import landing pages from other applications. This can be very convenient for social media marketing campaigns. I have used the software more than 10 times and have never had any problems with deliverability.
Tags make it as simple as pie to add and remove subscribers from workflows.
The tagging system makes it easy to add and remove subscribers from workflows.
With ConvertKit, you can charge readers for a copy of your newsletter
There are more advanced tools (e.g. GetResponse or Sendinblue) that offer more advanced templates and design options, however, they tend to be more expensive.
The only templates they offer are text-based. They should offer more design options to achieve better visual results.
They provide the basics: open rates, click-through rates, and unsubscribes.
ConvertKit Functionality vs. Others
From a user interface perspective, if I had to choose between MailChimp and ConvertKit, it is ConvertKit every day. But, I think that they are different enough to matter, so stay tuned to find out why and whether that has to do with you.
ConvertKit Sequences & Automation
ConvertKit is one of the most powerful email marketing automation platforms available. One of its best features is sequences. A sequence is a series of related emails that are to be sent sequentially. Sequences are at the heart of how automation with ConvertKit works.
ConvertKit Broadcasts
I have found that sending broadcasts to specific segments of my list or subscribers who have tagged themselves in a previous email is a great way to keep my subscribers interested. If I send them an email that is relevant to what they are doing on the site, they will be more likely to take an action on my email.
ConvertKit allows users to access simple-to-use messages which are easy to read.
The interface is designed to be like that of a regular email message. Instead of broadcasting to 1000s of people, a user sends a single message to a friend. This forces the recipient to open the email and actually read the message instead of dismissing it as spam.
Email Automation / Email Sequences
With ConvertKit, you can send automated emails in a sequence. That means you can automate emails that are personalized to your customers based on their interests. You can send emails based on the day of the week, or send follow-up emails on a set schedule.
Automation Rules
Automation rules give you the ability to help your subscriber avoid receiving the emails that he does not want to receive. If you have an email sequence with 10 emails trying to sell a course, and after three emails a subscriber decides to buy that course, then the subscriber does not need to receive the other seven emails.
So you can create a rule that says that when a subscriber buys that course, he will be removed from that email sequence and added to a new email sequence that is created for people who have enrolled in your course. That is the power of automation rules.
Visual Automations
Convertkit makes it easy for you by creating visual automation. Initially, I have to say that this looks a bit overwhelming; however, it has a powerful set of tools that Convertkit has.
Automation rules have the following two things:
1. Triggers.
2. Actions.
When this happens, what action should follow?
These automation rules can be sent to specific groups of people.
Pros of ConvertKit over other email marketing software
There are many professionals who have moved from other email marketing tools to ConvertKit. The benefits of Convert Kit to their businesses is far more than what other tools can offer. That’s why we made the decision to move our business to ConvertKit. Let’s go over the benefits of ConvertKit to our business in detail.
1) The system that lets you send your mail to only those who have specifically agreed to receive it. This is called tag-based email. With this method, you can personalize your messages to your subscribers and make more profit. You can also use tags to segment your email list based on interests, etc. People can do things without telling you what they want. The best way to find out what they want is to look at how they are interacting with your content.
2) ConvertKit is a very easy to use email marketing tool. If you have a Facebook page, you can also set up an email marketing program that works on your Facebook page.
One of the reasons ConvertKit was created was to create a simple software tool for email marketing so that business professionals could have the features they needed to effectively communicate with prospects and customers. The analytics dashboard is clean and easy to use. The platform was also designed to be uncomplicated so that users can focus on the important tasks.
We don’t want to build features that are just for the sake of having features. We are looking to partner with the best in the email marketing space. We don’t want to be a one-stop shop for all of your needs. We want to be focused on email so that we can be the best at email.
3) It has an email sequence and courses built-in
Nathan Barry had already developed and sold a few e-books and courses before creating ConvertKit. I think this was a factor in making ConvertKit an easy platform to deliver your email courses, and leverage landing pages to grow your audience.
For example, you can remove people who have bought your course from a sequence or send more messages to people who got to your sales page but failed to buy.
This is important for selling ebooks and other informational products to your email subscribers.
ConvertKit Pricing Plans
ConvertKit is a tool that helps you manage your email marketing. All you need to start is $9 a month or $99 a year. It’s a complete solution that will help you manage up to 1000 email subscribers. So if you’re just starting out with email marketing, ConvertKit is perfect for you.
If you want to grow your email list, make use of the Referral System, track your subscribers, and get more value from your email list, you should go for the Creator Pro plan. That is the plan I recommend. The price is $59 per month, and that is for a maximum of 1,000 subscribers.
The price is low, and it is based on the number of subscribers. The idea is that when you get more active subscribers, the price will increase. You can have up to 2,000 subscribers, and that is a lot of subscribers for a low price! As I mentioned earlier, the pricing is based on the number of subscribers you have.
